Have you ever felt something is missing? Like there has to be more? More of what, you aren’t sure, but you just know there is more.
If God is limitless and without bounds, abundant and full of generosity, then there is more. With God, there is always more, and that means more gifts.
Some gifts help us personally to assist us on our journey, like joy, peace, faith, and trust. These gifts bless us and are intended to bless others. A gift’s true value is realized when opened, used, and shared.
What else does God want to give us? If we are sensing that something is missing, chances are we are right. He’s got many more gifts up His sleeve, so much more than we can ever imagine. St. Paul tells us all about them in 1 Corinthians chapter 12, specifically verses 7-11. They’re the supernatural ones.
Jesus came into this world to experience the fullness of His humanity during His time on earth and revealed the fullness of His divinity. He chose and taught the disciples and all His followers how to live a supernatural life fueled by the gifts of the Holy Spirit, and we are invited to follow suit.
Have a look at 1 Corinthians 12. If wisdom, knowledge, faith, healing, mighty deeds, prophecy, discernment of spirits, tongues and the ability to interpret them, pique your interest, have a look around. Is there a gift the Lord wants to give you? God has a lot more gifts to lavish upon us to build His Kingdom. Let’s not put Him in a box, limited by our comprehension of who we think God is, or we might miss the gifts He offers. One thing is certain, we will never understand the infinite nature of God, however, we can seek to understand, surrender, and be open to what He has to offer.
