God Will Find Us Anywhere

God will find us anywhere. There is no place beyond His gaze, no moment too ordinary, no heart too hidden. He is always looking for us—and deep down, we all long to be found.

This past week, while spending time in the woods, I found myself quietly noticing how often God shows up—in the rustling of leaves, in stillness, in birds singing, in the breath. I’ve been pondering the everyday places I meet Him and how unique each encounter is. I don’t think we can ever exhaust the ways God meets us; He alone knows how to find us where we need Him most.

Scripture is filled with sacred moments of encounter—ordinary people meeting our extraordinary God. Below are just a few of those moments:

The Ordinary

  • Adam and Eve met God in a garden
  • Peter and Andrew met Jesus while fishing
  • James and John met Jesus while mending nets
  • Phillip was simply found by Jesus
  • Nathaniel met Jesus in solitude and thought

In Suffering

  • Bartimaeus met the Lord in blindness
  • The Paralytic met Jesus in physical brokenness
  • The Hemorrhaging woman reached out in desperation for Jesus to heal what was draining her life
  • Mary Magdalene met Jesus in profound grief
  • The Demoniac met Jesus in torment
  • Hagar met the Lord in her despair

With Doubts

  • Nicodemus met Jesus in confusion
  • Thomas met the Risen Jesus with skepticism
  • Jacob met God in wrestling

In Sin

  • The Samaritan woman met the Lord in failure and shame
  • Zacchaeus met Jesus in curiosity but also in deception
  • The Rich Man met Jesus with a divided heart
  • The Thief on the Cross met the crucified Lord in repentance

Revelation

  • Moses met God in a supernatural moment at the burning bush
  • Mary met Jesus in the mystery of the Incarnation
  • Saul (later Paul) met our Lord while traveling on the road to Damascus

We are never too far gone, too far away, or too lost to meet the Lord. God will find us anywhere regardless of what we are doing–whether in the garden or at work, in our grief or our joy, in failure, or quiet reflection; He meets us where we are.

He doesn’t avoid our doubts and questions or back away from our brokenness and pain. He draws near to heal the paralyzed, restore sight to the blind, and free those who are burdened.

Wherever you are today—working, wondering, weeping, or worshiping—know this: The Lord is looking for you. And He knows just how to find you. So, allow yourself to be found, and He will bring you truth, hope, joy, and a new life–supernaturally fueled by His love
