Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...
|
A couple of months ago, I wrote a blog called Face to Face: Recognizing Jesus in the Everyday. I recently turned it into a guided meditation for a day of reflection, which I’ve shared below.
I love being led through spiritual meditations—they are such a powerful way to connect more deeply with our hearts and with the Lord’s presence.
If you’d like to listen to it, click the audio button above. You may want to slow down the playback speed. No, that’s not me speaking—maybe one day I’ll be technologically advanced enough to record it! In the meantime, I hope it blesses you and helps you connect more deeply with our Lord.
Before You Begin
A few tips before starting:
- Find a quiet place to sit.
- Take slow, deep breaths to quiet your body and mind.
- If distractions arise, jot them down so you can return to them later.
- If music helps you focus, here’s a suggestion.
- Bring your attention to the present moment.
- Feel free to pause the audio at any time.
Entering the Space
Imagine yourself in a quiet space, free from noise—perhaps a church, a garden, a bench, or a simple room filled with light.
Breathe in deeply, and as you exhale, picture yourself becoming more aware of God’s presence surrounding you.
Whisper silently:
“Lord, open my eyes to see You.”
Now, imagine a figure approaching.
It is Jesus.
He steps closer until He stands right in front of you—face to face.
Notice His eyes—steady, kind, filled with depth beyond words.
Let His gaze rest on you.
Do you sense that He sees not just your face, but your heart—your entire being?
Pause here and Rest in His gaze.
Face to Face with Jesus
What do you notice—His smile, His gestures, the gentleness of His presence?
Allow yourself to be seen completely, without fear.
Remember: He is here now, just as present as He was 2,000 years ago.
He is in the faces around you, in moments of joy and in moments of struggle.
He is with you in the ordinary—the breath in your lungs, the sound of creation, the rhythm of your day.
Whisper again:
“Lord, I see You. I am standing before You now.”
Let your mind bring to light a person in your life—perhaps someone you love, or maybe someone who challenges you.
See Jesus in their face.
Let His presence soften your heart.
Now think of a moment from your week—a quiet morning, a busy errand, or an unexpected interruption.
Picture Jesus standing there with you, in that very moment.
Pause here to let this truth settle: He is always near.
Resting in His Presence
Feel the warmth of His love resting upon you—
like the cloud that once filled the tabernacle,
like sunlight wrapping you in peace.
You are His dwelling place.
His gaze never leaves you.
You are seen, loved, and known.
Stay here for a few breaths—face to face, heart to heart.
When you are ready, whisper:
“For in You, Lord, I live and move and have my being.”
Let my eyes remain open, my heart aware,
Standing always in Your presence.
Take one final deep breath.
As you exhale, open your eyes gently,
carrying His presence with you into the world.
A Closing Thought
May this moment of stillness remind you that every encounter, every face, and each moment of our day can be a meeting place with Christ.

What an approachable way to be with Jesus intermittently throughout the day…and especially at the beginning and end!
♥️
Lovely–the comfort of Jesus near us, with us, in us…is our Way to make
it through this valley of tears,
Yes and amen!
Love this meditation, thank you, Leslie.
Thank you Sandra, for taking time to read it!
